Shreya Ghoshal is an Indian playback singer. She has received four National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards, nine Filmfare Awards South, four Kerala State Film Awards and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.Ghoshal’s career began when she won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contest as an adult. Her Bollywood playback singing career began with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, for which she received her first National Film Award and Filmfare Award. She has recorded songs for film music in various Indian languages and has established herself as a leading playback singer of Indian cinema.

Ghoshal was honoured by the U.S. state of Ohio, where governor Ted Strickland declared 26 June 2010 as “Shreya Ghoshal Day”. In April 2013, she was awarded with the highest honour given to playback singers in India by the Madhya Pradesh government. She has received several awards and nominations, including five Filmfare Awards and seven Filmfare Awards South. In 2010, Ghoshal became the first Indian singer to have her own wax statue at Madame Tussauds Museum. She is only the third singer from India, after Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, to have her own wax statue at Madame Tussauds. In 2017, she was featured five times in Forbes list of the top 100 celebrities of India. As of 2018, she has received two National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards. In 2019, Ghoshal received the Padma Shri by the Government of India.
